A calm and safe space for you to share what you need
As a counsellor I have experience supporting people through a range of life issues such as anxiety, depression, work stress, self esteem, chronic health, bereavement, family difficulties, relationship difficulties and academic stress amongst others. I have also had training on supporting people with neurodivergent needs such as Autism or ADHD. My pronouns are she/her.
I see counselling as being in a warm and welcoming environment where a collaborative space enables you to choose what you wish to share each session. Psychotherapy aims to help you feel heard and explore the distress you may be facing.
I believe that each individual has a unique experience. Often in society people are quick to give solutions leaving little room for someone to deeply explore the emotional pain they are in.
I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and a registered member of the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy). I accept referrals from Private Individuals directly, Businesses and Employee Assistance Programmes. I work for AXA Health EAP programme. If your employer offer this, you can ring AXA to request being referred for counselling support.
Research is a key part of my practice and I was able to present research findings titled 'Chronic Health and Creative Expression' at two international conferences in 2021. One through The Association for the Development of the Person Centred Approach online which was hosted in America.
I was invited to speak on a podcast- How We Care to discuss how psychotherapy can help when you're Working and Training as a Helping Professional when you have a chronic condition:
The other being for the World Association for Person Centred and Experiental Counselling hosted online in New Zealand. I am deeply passionate about people getting counselling support to help process lived experience of chronic health.
